This vintage chirimen 縮緬 haori 羽織, 100% silk, traditional Japanese kimono jacket, seduces with its superb terracotta pink hue, with coral and salmon nuances, both soft and warm. The textured chirimen fabric reveals an elegant graphic interplay mixing Japanese geometric patterns and stylized seigaiha (青海波) waves. These patterns bring rhythm and modernity while remaining rooted in traditional aesthetics. A refined piece, between minimalism and character.
🔶 Outer pattern
The fabric features a structured geometric pattern, associated with seigaiha waves, a symbol of calm and continuity in Japanese culture. The overall effect is very contemporary while drawing inspiration from traditional motifs. The natural relief of the chirimen silk accentuates the depth of the pattern and subtly catches the light.
Inner lining
The lining reveals a light salmon and white silk adorned with a delicate Raimon (雷文) pattern. This traditional pattern, inspired by thunder, consists of angular lines that extend into a continuous trace, evoking the flow of energy. Associated with strength, protection and continuity, it brings a subtle and refined graphic dimension to the inside of the haori.

🦝 Our opinion
A truly magnificent haori that perfectly combines tradition and modernity (clichéd but true!). We love the balance between its graphic patterns and the seigaiha waves, as well as the unique texture of the chirimen silk. Its soft and luminous terracotta pink hue makes it very easy to wear every day as well as for dressier occasions. A real favorite!

Care instructions – Haori KOGEDO
Cleaning
- Dry clean only, by a professional.
For silk haori, choose a dry cleaner experienced in handling silk. - Do not wash with water (by hand or machine): traditional dyes may bleed, especially shibori fabrics.
After the port
- After wearing, it is recommended to simply air it on a hanger, away from direct sunlight.
Garment Steaming
- Gentle steam ironing is possible, without direct contact with the fabric.
- Generally, it is not recommended to use a traditional iron. Use a protective cloth between the haori and the iron if necessary.
- For textured haori, do not iron!
Odours
- We preferentially select haori that do not have a strong odor.
- In case of a light odor, a very fine and localized misting, from a distance, of a mild fabric spray suitable for delicate fibers, followed by air drying.
- Always perform a preliminary test on an inconspicuous area
Precautions
- Avoid rain and prolonged humidity.
- Avoid direct sun exposure.
- Avoid repeated rubbing and contact with light-colored textiles.
