This long vintage haori in 100% rinzu 綸子 silk, a traditional Japanese kimono jacket, captivates with its very soft sky blue shade, illuminated by delicate floral and botanical motifs. A few leaves, vibrant blue and raspberry pink, are hand-embroidered, adding subtle relief to the whole. A refined and luminous piece, emblematic of Japanese elegance.

    🔶 Outer pattern:
Chrysanthemum 菊 (kiku) motifs in soft tones – pink, blue, and white – accompanied by stylized bamboo leaves 竹 (take). The jacquard background weave of the rinzu 綸子 silk reveals itself depending on the light. The light curves of the design evoke a breath of wind in a peaceful landscape. The pastel blue background brings a feeling of freshness and serenity.

    🌊 Inner lining:
Cream silk with a fine damask weave depicting stylized waves 波 (nami), clearly inspired by the Great Wave off Kanagawa 神奈川沖浪裏. A discreet yet strong nod to ukiyo-e aesthetics.

    📏 Dimensions:

    • Sleeve to sleeve span: 126 cm
    • Height (shoulder to hem): 90 cm

Mikan, our model, is 1.58m tall and is very comfortable in an oversized style.

🧵 Material: 100% rinzu 綸子 jacquard silk
⭐️ Condition: Very good – fluid and shiny fabric, perfect drape. Note: two small signs of wear (slightly yellowed, barely visible): one on the right sleeve, the other on the left shoulder blade (see photos).

Origin: Japan, found in Shizuoka Prefecture.

    💠 Practical detail:
This haori comes with its traditional tie (羽織紐 haori himo), braided in a perfectly matching seafoam green hue.

    🦝 Our opinion:
A long, delicate, almost poetic haori, to be worn like a second skin. Its lightness, rinzu silk, and colorful embroideries make it a choice piece for those looking for an elegant and unique vintage garment. It pairs wonderfully with white trousers, light jeans, or a flowing dress.

    Care instructions – Haori KOGEDO

    Cleaning

    • Dry clean only, by a professional.
For silk haori, choose a dry cleaner experienced in handling silk.
    • Do not wash with water (by hand or machine): traditional dyes may bleed, especially shibori fabrics.

    After the port

    • After wearing, it is recommended to simply air it on a hanger, away from direct sunlight.

    Garment Steaming

    • Gentle steam ironing is possible, without direct contact with the fabric.
    • Generally, it is not recommended to use a traditional iron. Use a protective cloth between the haori and the iron if necessary.
    • For textured haori, do not iron!

    Odours

    • We preferentially select haori that do not have a strong odor.
    • In case of a light odor, a very fine and localized misting, from a distance, of a mild fabric spray suitable for delicate fibers, followed by air drying.
    • Always perform a preliminary test on an inconspicuous area

    Precautions

    • Avoid rain and prolonged humidity.
    • Avoid direct sun exposure.
    • Avoid repeated rubbing and contact with light-colored textiles.
    • Do not spray perfume directly onto the fabric.
