    🍶 Detailed Description:

    Ancient Japanese plate made of fine porcelain, Kutani-yaki type (九谷焼), dating from the late Taishō / early Shōwa period (circa 1925–1935), a pivotal period when Japanese decorative art reached a high degree of artisanal sophistication.

    The piece is divided into several zones by undulating gilded borders, typical of the Kutani style of this era. The main decoration depicts a seated male figure, dressed in a red kimono with golden dots, carrying a gourd (hyōtan) in a bucolic setting: bamboo basket, stylized waterfall, pines and foliage.

    Around this scene, the plate features magnificent chrysanthemum flowers, with details in fine gilding and slightly raised white enamel, contrasting with the green foliage.

    The inner border is outlined with a black and gold geometric pattern, and the reverse features a stylized pine painted in black, as well as the handwritten signature 九谷 (Kutani) in the center.
