🌸 Description
This deep black lacquer bowl, originally from Wajima (輪島), is adorned with a hagi motif — a plant emblematic of autumn in Japanese culture, often celebrated in classical poetry and decorative arts. The golden leaves are finely drawn, and some are delicately enhanced with a shimmering nashiji effect, bringing a subtle and refined sparkle to the whole.
The quality of the lacquer, shiny and perfectly smooth, testifies to the traditional craftsmanship of Wajima, famous for its durable and elegant lacquers.
Both functional and decorative, this bowl can be used to serve miso soup, delicate rice, or as a display object on a shelf dedicated to Japanese craftsmanship.

♡ Why we love this bowl
The hagi motif, a symbol of discreet grace and autumnal melancholy, pairs perfectly with the sobriety of black lacquer.
The contrast between deep black and radiant gold — enriched by touches of nashiji — creates a classic and poetic aesthetic.
An exceptional piece to elevate a simple moment, celebrate the season, or enrich a collection of refined Japanese craftsmanship.

By purchasing from Kogedo, you are helping to keep traditional Japanese crafts and culture alive.
