📏 Size: Shikishi-ban Approximately 24×25 cm

Subject:
This delicate kachō-ga 花鳥画 print depicts a kingfisher in full flight among reeds. The composition is remarkably understated, highlighting the bird's graceful momentum and the silent balance of the plant setting. Everything here evokes the lightness, calm, and fleeting beauty of Japanese nature.
✨ Notable details:
The kingfisher is remarkably precise, both in its vibrant plumage and the delicacy of its posture. The blue gradients, ranging from turquoise to cobalt, emphasize the quality of the pigments and the mastery of the brushwork. The sketched reeds add a subtle dynamism, without distracting from the bird.
Condition:
Original period print in good condition.
➕ Well-preserved colors, excellent blue tones.
➖ Slight paper toning and minor age marks visible on the reverse, with no impact on the visible front (see photos).
🦜 Our opinion:
A kachō-ga 花鳥画 print of rare sensibility, capturing a suspended moment in nature.
The kingfisher, executed with striking finesse and energy, brings the whole scene to life. It is a peaceful work, yet one with definite visual power.
Perfect for Japanese art lovers who appreciate depictions of animals and poetic landscapes.
