🌸 Outer design: This antique haori 羽織, a type of traditional Japanese kimono jacket, is crafted from extremely light and fluid silk, pleasant to the touch and comfortable to wear. The plum purple 紫 (murasaki) fabric is adorned with a delicate ivory floral motif, enhanced with small red and yellow touches.
Inner lining: The lining reveals a vibrant composition: stylized clouds, flowers, and 紅葉 (momiji, maple leaves) in a gradient of orange, yellow, and green. A contrasting autumnal scene, typical of the visual refinement of the Shōwa era.
📏 Dimensions:
- Sleeve span (cuff to cuff): 126 cm
- Height (shoulder to hem): 81 cm
Material: Very fine habutae 羽二重 type silk.
Condition: Excellent – Intact fabric, supple and lustrous. No notable flaws, likely never worn.
Origin: Japan, discovered in Tokyo Prefecture.
🦝 Our opinion: Light as a spring breeze, this haori is a true textile jewel. Wear it over a simple outfit to let the material and subtle patterns speak for themselves. Ideal for everyday wear as well as for more dressed-up occasions.
Our model in the photos, Loony, is 1m60 tall.

Care instructions – Haori KOGEDO
Cleaning
- Dry clean only, by a professional.
For silk haori, choose a dry cleaner experienced in handling silk. - Do not wash with water (by hand or machine): traditional dyes may bleed, especially shibori fabrics.
After the port
- After wearing, it is recommended to simply air it on a hanger, away from direct sunlight.
Garment Steaming
- Gentle steam ironing is possible, without direct contact with the fabric.
- Generally, it is not recommended to use a traditional iron. Use a protective cloth between the haori and the iron if necessary.
- For textured haori, do not iron!
Odours
- We preferentially select haori that do not have a strong odor.
- In case of a light odor, a very fine and localized misting, from a distance, of a mild fabric spray suitable for delicate fibers, followed by air drying.
- Always perform a preliminary test on an inconspicuous area
Precautions
- Avoid rain and prolonged humidity.
- Avoid direct sun exposure.
- Avoid repeated rubbing and contact with light-colored textiles.
- Do not spray perfume directly onto the fabric.
