    Exterior:

    Vintage men's haori (羽織 / haori) made of black, slightly shiny habutae silk (羽二重), with an elegant drape. This is a kuro montsuki haori (黒紋付羽織), a formal garment featuring five family crests, or kamon (itsutsu-mon / 五つ紋), arranged on the back, sleeves, and chest.
    The five kamon depict the Maru ni Chigai Takanoha (丸に違い鷹の羽) motif, consisting of two crossed hawk feathers within a circle. The deep black, the fineness of the habutae, and the sober exterior decoration give this haori a refined presence, typical of traditional Japanese masculine elegance.

    Lining:

    The interior (羽裏 / haura) reveals a remarkable chirimen silk (縮緬) lining, adorned with a figurative decoration blending shika (鹿), fans, and a suzu (鈴) bell. The characters 神鹿 / shinroku, literally "sacred deer," appear at the heart of the composition and reinforce the symbolic dimension of the scene.
    The decoration is at least partially hand-painted, with delicate golden highlights accentuating certain contours and details. The contrast between the very sober black exterior and this richly illustrated lining exemplifies the Japanese taste for discreet interior decorations, revealed only when the garment opens.

    A particularly elegant men's Japanese haori, whose apparent sobriety hides a spectacular lining. We love the class of formal itsutsumon haori with samurai crests! We also adore the sacred deer that remind us of Nara and Miyajima! Superb!

    Care instructions – Haori KOGEDO

    Cleaning

    • Dry clean only, by a professional.
      For silk haori, choose a dry cleaner experienced in handling silk.
    • Do not wash with water (by hand or machine): traditional dyes may bleed, especially shibori fabrics.

    After the port

    • After wearing, it is recommended to simply air it on a hanger, away from direct sunlight.

    Garment Steaming

    • Gentle steam ironing is possible, without direct contact with the fabric.
    • Generally, it is not recommended to use a traditional iron. Use a protective cloth between the haori and the iron if necessary.
    • For textured haori, do not iron!

    Odours

    • We preferentially select haori that do not have a strong odor.
    • In case of a light odor, a very fine and localized misting, from a distance, of a mild fabric spray suitable for delicate fibers, followed by air drying.
    • Always perform a preliminary test on an inconspicuous area

    Precautions

    • Avoid rain and prolonged humidity.
    • Avoid direct sun exposure.
    • Avoid repeated rubbing and contact with light-colored textiles.
    • Do not spray perfume directly onto the fabric.
