This vintage 100% rinzu 綸子 silk haori 羽織, a type of traditional Japanese kimono jacket, captivates with its superb deep terracotta hue, close to brick red, warm and elegant. The fabric reveals a delicate jacquard of flowers (花 – hana) and stylized clouds (雲 – kumo) woven directly into the silk. These motifs appear in tone-on-tone relief, creating a subtle interplay with the light. A refined piece, both understated and rich in detail.
🔶 Outer Pattern
The fabric features an elegant jacquard pattern combining flowers and clouds, decorative elements very present in traditional Japanese textiles. The motifs appear subtly in the terracotta silk and reveal themselves with the fabric's movement. This type of textile decor, highly appreciated during the Shōwa (昭和) era, embodies the balance between simplicity and sophistication characteristic of Japanese aesthetics.
Inner Lining
The lining reveals a light silk adorned with large floral motifs in delicate pink hues. This contrast between the deep terracotta exterior and the bright interior brings softness and elegance to the entire garment.

🦝 Our Opinion
This haori is a piece of great elegance. We love the beauty and fluidity of the rinzu silk and the patterns that reveal themselves with the light! Its warm terracotta color makes it easy to wear daily as well as for a dressier outfit. Worn over a black, beige or denim outfit, it immediately adds a very classy Japanese touch. We love it!

Care instructions – Haori KOGEDO
Cleaning
- Dry clean only, by a professional.
For silk haori, choose a dry cleaner experienced in handling silk. - Do not wash with water (by hand or machine): traditional dyes may bleed, especially shibori fabrics.
After the port
- After wearing, it is recommended to simply air it on a hanger, away from direct sunlight.
Garment Steaming
- Gentle steam ironing is possible, without direct contact with the fabric.
- Generally, it is not recommended to use a traditional iron. Use a protective cloth between the haori and the iron if necessary.
- For textured haori, do not iron!
Odours
- We preferentially select haori that do not have a strong odor.
- In case of a light odor, a very fine and localized misting, from a distance, of a mild fabric spray suitable for delicate fibers, followed by air drying.
- Always perform a preliminary test on an inconspicuous area
Precautions
- Avoid rain and prolonged humidity.
- Avoid direct sun exposure.
- Avoid repeated rubbing and contact with light-colored textiles.
- Do not spray perfume directly onto the fabric.
