This Japanese jinbei for children illustrates all the joy of summer festivals in Japan. Its sunny yellow, gourmet colors and sparkling decor make it a lively outfit, as pleasant to wear as it is to look at.
What is a jinbei?
A jinbei 甚平 is a light Japanese summer outfit, consisting of a cross-over jacket to tie and matching shorts, often worn by children during hot days, relaxation moments or matsuri festivals. It is suitable for both girls and boys.
🌸 Exterior pattern
The whole world of a Japanese matsuri comes to life on this jinbei: the fūrin 風鈴 evoke the tinkling of bells in the warm air, the uchiwa 団扇 fans accompany summer strolls, while the mizu-yō-yō 水ヨーヨー water balloons and the poi ポイ from the kingyo-sukui 金魚すくい goldfish scooping game recall the lively festival stalls. On the bright yellow background, pink, red, white and orange tones create a joyful, tender and dynamic scene, punctuated by small sakura 桜 flowers.
Finishes and interior
The jacket closes with ties, in the classic children's jinbei style. The short sleeves and loose fit offer great freedom of movement, making this outfit very comfortable during the summer, at home, at a Japanese festival or during hot days. The matching shorts have an elasticated waist, simple and practical to put on.

Care instructions – Haori KOGEDO
Cleaning
- Dry clean only, by a professional.
For silk haori, choose a dry cleaner experienced in handling silk. - Do not wash with water (by hand or machine): traditional dyes may bleed, especially shibori fabrics.
After the port
- After wearing, it is recommended to simply air it on a hanger, away from direct sunlight.
Garment Steaming
- Gentle steam ironing is possible, without direct contact with the fabric.
- Generally, it is not recommended to use a traditional iron. Use a protective cloth between the haori and the iron if necessary.
- For textured haori, do not iron!
Odours
- We preferentially select haori that do not have a strong odor.
- In case of a light odor, a very fine and localized misting, from a distance, of a mild fabric spray suitable for delicate fibers, followed by air drying.
- Always perform a preliminary test on an inconspicuous area
Precautions
- Avoid rain and prolonged humidity.
- Avoid direct sun exposure.
- Avoid repeated rubbing and contact with light-colored textiles.
