🍡 Sweet Bowl with Lid (菓子鉢, kashibachi) – Shino-yaki Style (志野焼) – Yamaho Workshop (山保)
A rare and elegant piece, this kashibachi (Japanese sweet bowl) is a handcrafted creation from the Yamaho (山保) workshop, renowned for its roots in the ceramic tradition of Mino (美濃), the birthplace of the Shino-yaki (志野焼) style.
The thick white glaze, with its granular textures, reveals hiirowear 緋色 (brown-orange) effects, typical of Shino ceramics, giving the piece a raw, lively, and profoundly wabi-sabi appearance.

Details and symbolism
Originally a functional object, used for serving sweets (wagashi) during tea ceremonies or formal visits, this bowl testifies to the attention paid to gesture, sharing, and seasonality, so dear to Japanese culture.
Its dark wooden lid contrasts with the whiteness of the ceramic, reinforcing the rustic nobility of the whole. The intentionally visible irregularities make each piece unique.
The inscription on the wooden box, made with a brush and accompanied by the artisan 山保's red seal (hanko), guarantees the authenticity and direct provenance of the object.
🦝 Our opinion – a rare piece not to be missed:
A unique kashibachi, hard to find even in Japan. Perfect for tea lovers, Japanese ceramic enthusiasts, or simply those who appreciate objects with a story. The kind of piece that catches the eye and calms the moment.

By purchasing from Kogedo, you are helping to keep traditional Japanese crafts and culture alive.
