    Description

    This souvenir kokeshi pays tribute to Tateyama (立山), one of Japan's sacred mountains, famous for its spectacular snowy landscapes. This kokeshi is protected from the cold by a traditional straw coat called mino (蓑), formerly used in rural areas to guard against snow and bad weather.

    Its aesthetic directly evokes the world of the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, known for its impressive snow walls reaching several meters high in spring. This kokeshi thus embodies the unique atmosphere of these Japanese alpine landscapes, blending tradition and extreme nature.
