    Description:

Elegant Japanese set from the Shōwa (昭和) era, consisting of a traditional comb 櫛 (Kushi) and its matching hairpin 笄 (Kogai).
Made of imitation tortoiseshell resin (bekko), this duo features delicate crane and chrysanthemum motifs created in gold and silver maki-e, on a translucent amber background reminiscent of the natural shades of genuine tortoiseshell.

The Kushi comb reveals a refined decoration: two cranes with outstretched wings among stylized flowers, symbolizing prosperity and timeless beauty.
The ends of the Kogai harmoniously repeat the same motifs, creating a perfect visual balance between the two pieces.

A rare and poetic piece, a testament to the feminine refinement of the Shōwa era.

    🦝 Our opinion:

Made of imitation tortoiseshell resin, it reproduces the aesthetic of tortoiseshell accessories – without using the material itself, which makes it a respectful and ethical choice 🐢❌

Perfect for a refined hairstyle or as a gift. Pairs beautifully with a vintage kimono – or with a contemporary creation by Kogedo l’Atelier.
