This Japanese ceramic maneki neko is a popular piece from the late Shōwa era, recognizable by its simple and warm style. It raises its right paw, a traditional gesture associated with attracting wealth and financial prosperity. In its other paw, it holds a wish-granting hammer (uchide no kozuchi), a symbol of Daikokuten: it is supposed to grant wishes and multiply possessions.

On its belly, the large golden plaque bears the inscription 千万両 (senman-ryō), literally "ten million ryō," a classic formula invoking great abundance. Its eyes adorned with rhinestones give the figurine a brilliant expression typical of popular productions from the 1970s–1980s.

    Symbolism of the details:
Raised right paw: attracts money and prosperity.
Wish-granting hammer: wealth, achievement, wishes fulfilled.
Plaque 千万両: exceptional wealth, wish for financial success.
Red collar and bell: protection against evil spirits.
Rhinestones in the eyes: vigilance and expressive charm characteristic of Shōwa maneki.

🔁 At the back, a slot allows it to be used as a piggy bank, recalling its original role: to keep and attract fortune.

    🦝 Our opinion

Its eyes hypnotize us and shine like a real cat's, and with its kozuchi hammer, it has what it takes to attract good luck and a little money along the way!
