    This vintage 100% cotton nemaki (寝巻き), made in Japan, is a true light Japanese indoor kimono. Light, loose-fitting, and easy to wear, it's a perfect Japanese loungewear garment.

    What is a nemaki?

    A nemaki is Japanese indoor clothing, visually similar to a light yukata, but designed primarily for relaxation. It is often found in ryokan (旅館), traditional Japanese inns, or in relaxation spots like onsen (温泉). Unlike a classic yukata, which sometimes requires a more precise adjustment with an obi, the nemaki is more casual, simpler, and very easy to put on. Its matching belt included allows it to be worn without complication: perfect for home, summer evenings, or simply for chilling Japanese style.

    Exterior Pattern

    The design combines numerous traditional purple motifs: large sensu (扇子) fans filled with pine (松) branches, bamboo (竹) foliage, ume (梅) plum blossoms, chrysanthemums (菊), and stylized kikyō bellflowers. The contrast between the white cotton and dark purple creates a very pretty, fresh, and very Japanese look. The pattern is dense, yet remains light thanks to the fine drawing and the strong presence of white.

    Finishes and Interior

    This light Japanese kimono for women is made of unlined cotton, with a straight cut, wide sleeves, and overlapping panels. It comes with its matching belt, making it very simple to wear as loungewear, Japanese pajamas, or a light summer kimono.

    Very good vintage condition, probably new, never worn - No defects noted during inspection.
    Presented with its original plastic pouch and Japanese labels.

    Care

    Easy care: it is recommended to opt for a gentle cold wash or 30°C in the machine, ideally in a laundry net. Tumble drying should be avoided to protect the fabric and pattern print. Natural drying on a hanger is recommended, with gentle ironing on the reverse side if needed.

    When it's hot, there's nothing better than a good nemaki to relax quietly. This one is particularly beautiful with all these traditional floral motifs that we love! The purple color, not so common in nemaki, gives a very nice result!

    Ideal for those who are simply looking for a beautiful light cotton kimono, very casual, easy to put on, without fuss! Just slip it on, tie the belt, and you're good to go!
