    Two small Japanese bowls made of glazed ceramic, hand-decorated with traditional motifs: fans, flowers, and court accessories. The vivid colors (red, gold, purple) are typical of the Kutani 九谷焼 style.

    Probably made between 1920 and 1935, they show crazing in the glaze (kan’nyū) and irregularities on the rim, visible on both pieces. These are not recent restorations but likely original touch-ups or flaws, common in artisanal productions of the period.

    Kutani ceramic, originating from the Ishikawa region, is renowned for its rich, colorful decorations often enhanced with gilding. It was very popular for export in the early 20th century.
