Vintage Yukata 浴衣 in white cotton – Japanese summer kimono with stylized bamboo, maple, and floral patterns.

This vintage 100% cotton yukata 浴衣, a true Japanese summer kimono, captivates with its slightly bluish white background and very graphic indigo blue decor. It features momiji 紅葉, Japanese maple leaves, sasa no ha 笹の葉, bamboo leaves, and small stylized flowers. Fine light blue lines create a veining effect on the cotton. Light, loose, and breathable, this unisex yukata is perfect for the warmer months.

🌿 Outer Pattern

The design combines long bamboo leaves, Japanese momiji maples, and indigo silhouette flowers, distributed over the entire surface of the garment. The drawing has a very lively movement, almost painted with a brush, with large botanical curves and more delicate details. The light background brings a lot of luminosity, while the deep blue adds depth.

Finishes and Interior

This traditional Japanese yukata is made without lining, a classic construction for this summer garment. Its straight cut, wide sleeves, and soft cotton make it easy to wear, both as refined loungewear and as summer attire. It is also suitable for summer outings and matsuri atmospheres!

100% cotton – a natural, light, and pleasant material, ideal for a Japanese yukata. The fabric allows the skin to breathe, maintains a simple drape, and creates the straight fall typical of traditional Japanese clothing. Its soft feel makes it comfortable for everyday wear.

Very good vintage condition – No significant flaws noted during inspection.

Care

To preserve this Japanese cotton yukata, it is recommended to hand wash in cold water or machine wash on a delicate cycle, without prolonged soaking. Dark colors, especially indigo dyes, may bleed during the first few washes: it is therefore advisable to wash the item separately. If in doubt about colorfastness, it is best to do a discreet test before washing or entrust the item to a dry cleaner for dry cleaning. Tumble drying should be avoided.

This yukata has the simple charm of beautiful Japanese textiles: a very fresh light background, indigo patterns that immediately catch the eye, and that botanical mix of momiji and sasa bamboo that gives it a beautiful identity. It is easy to wear, neither too conservative nor too busy!
